dragoons are an essential part of the army but the need to paint both mounted and dismounted figures does tend to raise the war chest budget.
I must get round to painting some dismounted figures for my bavarian dragoons at some point - they look just like yours (only I suspect not quite as well equipped).
The regiment will be three squadrons of twelve figures strong, but I will only be painting a single dismounted squadron of 10 figures and a little base with a couple of horses and a horde-holder on it.
They are really there to give the Bavarian commander another ("mobile infantry") option in the "Defence of Strudelberg" game.
How often did dragoons fight dismounted between 1740 and 1763, I wonder?

Are the Prussian jager hezzlewood sculpts? I was shown some (that i was told were prussian jager) and thought they were relatively poor, definitely not hezzlewood sculpts (similarly with the prussian gunners)...?
So far just two packs on order, one each of foot and horse. They will be painted up in the uniforms of the glorious Bishopric of Uber Gruntshuffen (beased on the Piedmontese uniforms around 1750) http://gruntshuffen.blogspot.com/

What are you using for bases on those figures? And are they all RSM95s, or something else? They're looking quite nice.
I'm using the round GW bases. The larger ones are the LotR Horse bases and the smaller ones that I'm using for induviduals are their 25mm ones.
The figurea are all RSM barring one of the horses which is by Eureka.

Is the dismounted hussar the fellow standing with musket pointed skywards? I think I painted one once as a kind of bodyguard fo one of my Generals.
Now I want some Jaeger - see the power you have over me? I think the Prussian and Hanoverian jaeger are some of Mr Hezzlewoods' nicest sculpts.
My painting world has been different since I started undercoating my figures in black - it's so strange how profoundly my painting style has changed.

Are you using the French castings? I always thought they'd make good Italians (and Spaniards) for the War of the Austrian Succession.

Hey Greg - what about those RSM jager - Hezzlewood's or not? My credit card demands an answer...8-)
I think the Prussian Jaeger is a Hezzlewood (the Hanoverian definately is) but it's similar to the dismounted dragoon.
If you like the one you'll like the other.
