To my unexpectedly very great distress, I have managed to lose a large chunk of one of my core armies. This has been the result of the very great disorder attendant upon our home renovations. It's absolutely bloody comical on one level, but I'm completely distraught on another. And it's not even the money they cost but the sheer investment of time and effort to get them to this place. I just cannot believe it.
Poof, gone. The French artillery.
CR#5
FR#35
GR2
GR2 bis
HR1 and HR5

IR#48
The Saxon LeibGrenadierGarde

The entire goddam artillery park!
Whatever will the King say?
UPDATE - he'll say, you forgot to mention IR#13 and the von Kleist Croats, idiot!

Greg,
I don't know what to say. Christ Almighty. That's awful. Is there any chance of finding them?
Who knows? Believe me, I am leaving no stone unturned.
First world problem, he said, trying to maintain some perspective.
I don't know what to say, that is terrible. Good luck looking.
Thanks John. It is doing my head in rather.
Nooooo! I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed that they turn up.
Best Regards,
Stokes
Oh No! No, no, no! GGGGRRRRrrrr! I absolutely hate it when stuff like this happens! Hang in there Greg. Having that many go AWOL is disconcerting to say the least. I hope that you find them all, sooner rather than later. Please keep us updated.
Oh No ! I hope they turn up ...
Yikes! That is distressing. Are you thinking a box or two not delivered by the movers?
Only had something similar happen once but it was far fewer troops and I knowingly left them behind at college for the club when I went west, expecting to be able to collect them later but never got the chance. At least I knew they were being enjoyed.
Not knowing is a torture on top of the loss. Hopefully, somewhere in a back corner of your basement.....
Good luck.
Really sorry to hear this, how utterly vile for you. I do hope they turn up...

Cripes. Even selling off or giving away stuff is a wrench. Losing wargames stuff is like having a vital piece of the anatomy dropping off. All my best wishes towards your finding them again. I have had lengthy hunts myself in the past. Quite often the object of the search turns up two days after I stop looking.
Hey Greg! Ever since you posted, I've been feeling your loss. I hate to bring the subject up, but you mentioned that a lot of renovations had been taking place recently....could it be that someone helped himself to some of your collection?! Were the figures insured? If the culprit is a fellow wargamer (GASP!) he may be using the purloined figures for his own use. If not, he may try to flog your troops on E-bay, or something similar, for a quick profit. It may pay off for you to put the word out to a wider audience to keep an eye out. In the meantime, I hope you find them soon!
I hope they turn up. I find things turn up when you are not looking for them.
