I've spent the last ten days or so painting the "de los Rios" Regiment. I finished off the Colonel's horse this morning, and so thought it was worthy of a couple of quick shots. I'm using quite a different style of painting than with the Alzheimers standard black undercoat, I decided to spray on a white base-coat/undercoat before lining each figure in black, then colouring in!

And they are up to your usual high painting standard. The green facings are a very pretty touch too.

Viva Italia and all that!
I like the look of 'em.
Of course, I was a white undercoat sort for decades before switching to light grey this year.

Another great looking regiment in defense of the realm. One of these days you're going to have to parade the whole army so we can see the "Gentlemen of Alzheim" at their martial best. Nice work. - Mike
The method you describe is my favorite method. For one thing, once you've done the outlining, the troops already look like something interesting; and for another, the colours you get are nice and bright. I'm definitely a member of the bright school of military attire.
I do find this method takes a little longer, but it's more pleasurable and engaging in my view.
The Los Rios Regiment is a fine looking body of men. Of course, the family Los Rios also supplies an inhaber for a regiment of foot in the service of Trockenbeeren-Auslese...
