Kurfurstin Dragoons Drummer

Finished him off last night while watching a really bad horror film - "Descent". Six women go caving and fall foul one by one (naturally) to a bunch of devolved troglodytes. One accidentally injures another and in her turn is vengefully wounded and left to die.
Nice ethics, I have to say. Another play on the torture agenda that "24" is so keen to push?
Certainly it gave me the motivation to concentrate on painting.
Strange to say, I have no information on Bavarian Cavalry musicians, so I just painted him in the same uniform as his fellows.

He looks good to me. Of course, I don't know anything about the Bavarians either . . . but he still looks good.

I'm doing his CO tonight - OK, I cheated and started him this morning while I was getting ready for work.

He'll be much the same as the troopers but with silver rather than white lace. I'm using the Prussian mounted officer figure.

Excellent!
Since this is all in fun and imagination I say do what you like (and don't let the facts get in the way, as they say) :-)

Oh indeed Fitz; when facts are thin on the ground I feel free to improvise!

Excellent job on the conversion. Pretty soon, you will be sculpting your own RSM-like figures.

Ha! Give me another five years of messing around with greenstuff and conversions first, Alte Fritz!

Best regards,

Greg

Great conversion!

I like that you have him riding holding the drum, since in a charge or other action the drum would not be 'played' anyway!

good stuff

Thanks Murdock; To me it seems that having a great, unwieldy thing like a drum on your hip when you are riding would limit you to just hanging on! - it was also the easiest option!

Perhaps if I do some dragoons at the halt at some stage, I could try to prodice one "playing".
